Flying Insect & Biting Fly Control
Proven UV technology lures insects such as mosquitoes, midges, thrips and harvest mites as well as all pest fly species away from the areas occupied by people.
The unit is designed specifically for outdoor use and is recommended for areas up to 1 acre. A unique vertical-rod (40w) grid provides the electrical contact where insects are efficiently electrocuted. The unique design eliminates the clogging that can short circuit a unit or cause flare up of insect remains in mesh grid units (clogged grills also have impaired luring power). Dead insects drop to the ground.
The unit should be hung 25–50 feet away from a living area in a position that is on the fringe of insect activity, eg on the edge of a shrubbery or herbacious border but away from where people gather. The UV light provides an attractive backdrop of light throughout the night. Built to withstand the toughest conditions. Damproof and rustproof.
In autumn and winter the efficiency of this unit can really be maximised if it is moved into the attic of the house where it can offer a non chemical solution to overwintering flies such as clusterflys and autumn flies. (Position as bucket or tray on the floor below the unit in order to collect the catch.)
The blacklight UV tube requires annual replacement to maintain optimum efficiency.
